Tell us about the background of the Noli apartment you are planning.
I designed a unique Artisan studio for the new Noli Herttoniemi in an empty 25m2 apartment on the 8th floor. The studio is now available for anyone to book for one or more nights. We collaborated with Noli, which involved not only the interior design of the Artisan studio but also creating Instagram content about the stages of the studio's interior design and Noli Herttoniemi in general. Videos of the process can be found on my Instagram account @peetapeltola.
You've created an amazing atmosphere in an ordinary apartment. How did the interior design of the apartment come about?
Thank you so much, it's lovely to hear! The Artisan studio embodies creativity, craftsmanship, and unique choices. I chose Paris as the theme and created the atmosphere with shades, materials, textiles, furniture, and lighting. I wanted to mix different patterns and textures to create a slightly mystical atmosphere. My favorite detail is that the lighting can also be adjusted to be completely red in the evening if desired. In my opinion, the best combination is a mix of new and old. Vintage finds and handmade ceramics add the finishing touches. What was the most interesting thing about this project?
I was given complete freedom in the theme and style of the interior. It's rare as a designer to have the client trust you to realize their vision according to their own taste! Of course, there was a budget, and the interior design was approved by Noli, but it was still a fun and different project in terms of freedom.
You've combined soft pink and dark burgundy beautifully in the space. How did you end up with these shades, and what kind of mood were you going for?
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get inspiration from all the visuals around me! Fashion is a big inspiration for me, as well as art, different cultures, flowers, architecture, music, etc.Your best tips for using color in interior design?
What are you currently inspired by in your home decor?
I haven't really decorated my own home for several years because I've lived in the same apartment for three years now, and I don't redecorate just for the sake of it. I prefer to make long-lasting and durable choices. However, I'm starting to look for a new home, so I can start renovating something new!Peeta's choice: LB5 EDITH & 025 OSCAR
